DEP3: check your readiness for CQC registration by taking our web based ‘health check’

DEP3: get ready for CQC

From 2012 all practices will be required to meet 16 essential standards of quality and safety as part of the new Care Quality Commission [CQC] registration system. These are called the "Minimum Practice Standards”. The registration of practices with the CQC will be a statutory requirement.

By signing up and completing the web based DEP3 assessment, you will understand the impact of these developments on your practice and it will provide you with two important pieces of information:

  • The current status of your practice as a business – your Minimum Practice Standards "fitness for purpose”
  • The potential for development

In effect this process is about ensuring that GP practices not only have systems in place that will protect patients and staff, but also processes that will demonstrate compliant, safe and effective services are being provided to the local registered population.

When fully completed as required, DEP3 allows your responses to be analysed in order to develop a report which will:

  • Assess your current state in relation to readiness for the introduction of the 16 essential standards
  • Recommend a programme you should put in place over the next 12 months to enable you to become compliant
  • Give you a top line assessment of areas you need to consider in terms of your practice as a business going forward

Once completed, the report will be written by one of our consultants and made available to you via email. This will be followed up with a personal call to offer you the opportunity to review your report with a member of the Catch On senior team and to consider how you put the required changes in place in the most cost effective way.
